LLMOcheki launches an ROI dashboard, showing the return on AI search work as a monetary figure

Itera, Inc. (head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takayuki Muto) has begun offering a set of features in LLMOcheki, its tool for measuring and improving LLMO, that express the return on AI search work in money.

Results arriving via AI are converted into a monetary figure using your own cost per conversion, and set against what you invested to give an ROI multiple. It is built so that agencies and support companies can show clients a reason to continue.

Background: not being able to explain the effect is what stops the work

Traffic arriving via generative AI keeps growing, yet most companies have no way to explain whether the money spent on it has been recovered. When someone reports an improvement in appearance rate, that is not something a decision-maker can invest against. The result is work that stops after a few months.

It is the same on the supporting side. When an agency or consultancy proposes AI search work, being unable to show a reason to continue in monetary terms means explaining themselves at every renewal.

Background: from appearance rate, to counts, to money

We have been moving the yardstick for AI search steadily closer to the language of the business. First from appearance rate as a percentage to a monthly count of exposures that reflects the demand behind each question. Now we go further, converting what that exposure produced into money.

Appearance rate is the metric the person doing the work looks at, the count is what the business unit looks at, and money is what the decision-maker looks at. Producing all three layers from the same measurement data lets everyone from the front line to the executive argue from the same numbers.

Feature 1: the ROI dashboard

Visits and conversions arriving via AI search are converted into money using the cost per conversion you set, and shown as an ROI multiple against what you invested. The investment figure can include your LLMOcheki subscription and the cost of the work you register.

Because it can be based on the primary conversion set through the GA4 integration, you judge on a business outcome rather than an increase in exposure.

The dates on which work was carried out are shown as markers on the trend graphs for appearance rate and brand share. Publishing an article, being listed in a third-party article, revising the site — each can be lined up against what happened to the numbers afterwards, on the same screen.

Because a record of what was done and what followed remains in sequence, it becomes easier to separate the work that had an effect from the work that did not.

Feature 3: the ROI report

A return-on-investment section has been added to the monthly report, structured so agencies and support companies can use it as a client report as it is.

White labelling is supported, so a support company can use it as a report under its own brand.

How it is calculated, and what to note

The monetary figures this feature displays are estimates based on analytics data. They are not a measurement of actual revenue.

The cost per conversion and the cost of the work are the values you set. This is a calculation based on your own assumptions, not a third-party assessment.

AI search also has its effect at the awareness and consideration stages, and the eventual visit may arrive by another route such as a branded search. Because the figures here are based on direct traffic via AI, they may understate the part AI search played. To avoid overstating results, the nature of the metric is stated on screen as well.

Comment from our Representative Director

“AI search work stops not because it does not work, but because the effect cannot be explained. A report saying the appearance rate went up is not something you can set next year’s budget against. We concluded that we needed to be honest that the figure is an estimate, and still make it usable for an investment decision.”
