LLMOcheki launches LLMO Tag, measuring the visits and enquiries that come through AI

Itera, Inc. (head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takayuki Muto) has added LLMO Tag to LLMOcheki, its tool for measuring and improving LLMO. LLMO Tag is a first-party measurement tag that records visits and enquiries arriving through AI search.

One line of tag is all it takes to see four stages on a single screen: read by AI, cited, a person arrived, an enquiry made. It uses no cookies, and we have opened a public page where companies who are not LLMOcheki customers can issue a tag free of charge.

Background: you are cited, and then the trail goes cold

AI search such as ChatGPT and Perplexity no longer only introduces and cites a brand within an answer. It has begun producing actual visits to sites.

Yet most companies cannot see which pages those AI-driven visits reached, how many people arrived, or how many enquiries followed. Decisions about investing in AI search work stop at the intermediate measure of having been cited: you can report that exposure rose, but not what it did for the business.

What it does

1. Measurement starts with one line of tag

Issue the tag from the admin screen, place it on your site, and visits arriving through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude are measured automatically, along with conversions such as a form submission or a tap on a phone number. Google Tag Manager is supported.

2. A four-stage funnel

Combined with the existing AI crawler and citation measurement, four stages can be seen on one screen for each page: read by AI, cited, a person arrived, an enquiry made.

Pages worth working on are extracted automatically — cited but not visited, visited but producing no enquiries. Because you can see which stage things stop at, you can identify what to do next.

3. Judging improvement work by visits and enquiries

The automatic effect measurement run two weeks after a piece of work now includes a before-and-after comparison of AI-driven visits and enquiries for the page in question. You can report on actual visits and enquiries, not only on visibility measures.

4. Built without cookies

Neither cookies nor local storage are used, and no personally identifying information is collected. The browser’s Do Not Track setting is respected.

Sample privacy policy wording for compliance with the external transmission rules of Japan’s Telecommunications Business Act is supplied alongside, and the tag can be used together with Google Analytics (GA4).

On how measurement works

Whether a visit came through AI is judged from referrer information, so access from environments that do not send a referrer may not be counted as AI-driven.

What this feature shows is a measured figure within what can be observed. It does not cover every visit that arrives through AI.

Comment from our Representative Director

“Reporting that you have been cited by AI is something companies have become able to do. What the business side wants to know is what comes after that.

You were cited — did anyone actually arrive, did anyone enquire? Unless those are joined up, you cannot make the call on next year’s budget.

I also think there is value in simply finding the pages that are cited and yet bring nobody in.”
