LLMOcheki launches AI search ad detection, automatically spotting the ads shown inside AI answers
Itera, Inc. (head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takayuki Muto) has begun offering AI search ad detection in LLMOcheki, its tool for measuring and improving LLMO. The feature automatically detects and analyses the advertising displayed on the answer screens of generative AI.
From the responses already collected by daily measurement, it detects the advertiser and the destination link, then determines whether the ad leads to your own site or is a competitor’s placement. It supports ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, and is provided on every plan at no additional cost.
Background: from “search advertising” to “advertising inside the AI answer”
As generative AI search spreads, advertising is starting to appear on AI answer screens as well. Yet there has been almost no way to keep track, over time, of what advertising you or your competitors are running inside those answers. A competitor can begin placing ads ahead of you, and you may not notice until your own traffic falls.
What it does
- From the responses collected by daily automatic measurement, it automatically detects the advertising shown on the answer screen — the advertiser and the destination URL
- Based on the advertiser’s domain and name, it automatically determines whether the ad leads to your own site, is a placement by a competitor you have registered, or is something else
- The competitor benchmark screen shows a list of detections over the past 28 days, which can be used to spot competitors’ AI search advertising early and to weigh whether you should be placing ads yourself
- Because it draws on the daily measurement you are already running, there is no additional cost
Coverage and what comes next
At present it supports ChatGPT and Google AI Mode. We plan to extend coverage in step with the generative AI services that introduce ad placements.
